
Katie Winch
Katie, originally from Spartanburg, SC, trained at Ballet Spartanburg and the SC Governor's School for the Arts before earning her B.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina. She is trained in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher.
With over three years of experience teaching in both studio and private settings, Katie has worked with dancers of all ages and levels, from preschoolers to advanced students. She has choreographed award-winning routines and led classes in technique, conditioning, and performance. In addition to her work in dance, she teaches child development in the Charleston County School District and holds dual master’s degrees in Teaching & Learning and Trauma-Informed Education.
Katie’s teaching philosophy emphasizes inclusivity, positivity, and empowerment. She creates a supportive space where students feel confident to grow and express themselves. In 2024, she was recognized with a OneBeat Standout Award from Groove Dance Competition for her tap piece Footloose, celebrating her creativity, attention to detail, and love of movement.
